The port activity is in close relation with the petrochemical industry existing in this large geographical area. Indeed, Fos-sur-Mer is considered to be the third largest port in the world as regards the oil trades.
The Fos-sur-Mer office covers the whole west harbour of the Port Authority of Marseille-Fos:

Correspondent for almost all the P&I Clubs and P&I Insurers, also certain Hull & Machinery Insurers, we have developed a specific expertise to handle claims in relation with the petrochemical industry (pollution cases, off-spec cases, problem with ROB or shortage…)
In addition, our P&I activity is also centred on handling specific problems in relation with the container traffic which is in continuous increase.
Our activity of assistance to seamen in P&I cases benefits from the specialization of our team regarding crew claims, also sick or injured stowaways and deserters.
Last but not least, our Fos office is in charge of inland waterway matters (sea-river vessels and barges) because of the increase in the activity on the Rhône river (Arles, Valence, Lyon) to which the port of Fos is closely linked.
